In preparation of the 2019 season of the National Eisteddfod, the National Eisteddfod Academy is presenting the annual Adjudicators’ Seminar on 3 August 2019 at the Roodepoort Theatre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Roodepoort.
Attendance of this seminar is open for any arts practitioner that would like to become involved as a member of the National Eisteddfod Academy Adjudicators’ Forum.
One of the features of the National Eisteddfod that distinguishes it from other similar events, is a unique style of adjudication. The National Eisteddfod Academy has always considered the eisteddfod experience as a learning opportunity. For the NEA it is not merely another “Who’s got talent? event.
Following the introduction of the Adjudicator as Brand, Brand Alignment and the Pursuit of Awesome concepts at the previous 3 seminars, the NEA will now have completed the full circle with the introduction of the Adjudicator Mindset concept at the upcoming seminar. This powerful concept can be considerd as the secret requirement that is necessary to turn a good adjudicator into a great adjudicator! Hence the NEA appeals to all adjudicators that would like to adjudicate for the NEA during 2019, to attend this workshop.
Although attendance of this Seminar is not compulsory, adjudicators should attend a NEA Seminar at least once every second year in order to maintain their current rating, however when possible, preference is given to adjudicators who attended the most recent workshop when scheduling events.
The attendance of 3 seminars and the adjudication of NEA events over 3 successive years are required to become a Senior Accredited NEA Adjudicator. These ratings are used to determine the individual adjudicator’s hourly rate for adjudication.
