Guidelines & Summary of Steps
The National Eisteddfod Academy has a no-limitation policy and provides for all age groups. The participation categories provide for all art forms and participation in all official languages.
Two options for submitting entries are available:
- Submit traditional “hard copy” entries (Please note that a higher entry fee is charged for a hard copy entry. An earlier closing date applies to hard copy entries). For more information about hard copy entries, please continue reading here . . .
- Register and submit entries ONLINE (A lower entry fee is charged for Online entries. Online entries have various other advantages.) For more information, continue reading.
Summary of the ONLINE ENTRY process

Online Registration for first time users
Registering ONLINE involves a few basic steps:

- Open your internet browser
- Search for www.eisteddfod.co.za
- Click on the LOGIN/REGISTER ONLINE tab
- Click on the REGISTER ONLINE tab
- Complete the registration form
- If you are a parent / individual participant, select the INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION category
- If you are an authorized representative of a public or independent school, select the SCHOOL category
- If you are the owner or representative of a studio, select the STUDIO category
- When the registration was successful, a message with your USER CODE and PASSWORD will be displayed.
To print your LOGIN details, hold down the CTRL Key and press P simultaneously – keep the printout for future reference.
Should you loose this information, please email register@eisteddfod.co.za to retrieve you login details.
Please note: A parent may NOT register on behalf of a school / studio. ONLY authorized representatives of schools / studios may register an Online Profile for a school / institution.
Login Online: First time users

- Open your internet browser
- Search for www.eisteddfod.co.za
- Click on the LOGIN/REGISTER ONLINE tab
- Click on the LOGIN tab
- Type in your USER CODE, PASSWORD & EMAIL ADDRESS
- Click LOG IN
- Login takes the user to the MAIN MENU – provides access to various sections of the ONLINE ENTRY system.
- First time LOGIN: Click on UPDATE Billing Account and update all fields. (Please check your spelling in all user data fields. Names and Surnames should start with CAPITAL letters.)
- Click SAVE ENTRY
- Click BACK to return to the MAIN MENU
Once Registered, you can access the National Eisteddfod Prospectus ONLINE
How?
- Click on the LOGIN/REGISTER ONLINE tab
- Click on the LOGIN tab
- Type in your LOGIN details and click LOG IN
- On the MAIN MENU – Click on VIEW/DOWNLOAD Prospectus 2020
- Open of download any section of the current Prospectus. Kindly note that this document is copy protected for your own use and can only be copied or download for your own use in participating in the National Eisteddfod of South Africa.
Login Online: Returning users
Returning Users: It is important that returning users annually update their Online Profiles as some information might have changed.
How?
Login as usual, click on UPDATE Billing Account and update any changed information for the new year, for example unavailable dates, contact details, etc.
Submitting Entries Online
Please note that ADDING A PARTICIPANT and ADDING ENTRIES for a participant are TWO DIFFERENT PROCESSES.
Submitting an entry involves the following steps:
- Select the ENTRY TYPE for the item
- Select an ITEM NUMBER
- Select a PARTICIPANT / PARTICIPANTS

Add / Edit Participant Online
ADDING NEW PARTICIPANTS / UPDATING EXISTING PROFILES
- Log in (For help with LOGIN click HERE)
- Select UPDATE/ADD PARTICIPANT (For help with searching for participants click HERE)
- Type name and surname of participant
- Click FIND PARTICIPANT
- If found, update school, grade and other details where necessary.
- If not found, select Add NEW Participant and complete profile
- Click SAVE ENTRY
Submit an Entry Online
- Log in (For help with LOGIN click HERE)
- Select UPDATE/ADD ENTRIES
- Select ADD NEW ENTRY
- If you know the item number (e.g. EN03-6024-04), you can type it directly in the block provided and click NEXT.
- If not, ‘build up’ the entry number by selecting the applicable elements as the process unfolds.
- Type name & surname of participant and click FIND PARTICIPANT
- If found, click SELECT next to the participant name OR
- ADD and SELECT a NEW participant.
- Select mode of performance for this item: LIVE / VIRTUAL / VIDEO
- Add the title of the song/poem/dance, etc.
- Click SAVE ENTRY.
- Please take note of the PAYMENT REFERENCE CODE and entry fee due as provided on the Summary page.
- Click on BACK to return to the ALL ENTRIES list page
- View completed entry in the ALL ENTRIES list.
- If you are satisfied that the entry is correct, continue by selecting the trainer or studio responsible for coaching this item. If not, click on DELETE and go BACK to repeat the process.
