As per the rules and regulations of this competition, the rescheduling of events is not allowed.
The only exceptions to this rule are as follows:
Participants who cannot perform on the date or time as scheduled are allowed to apply for the one of the following two options:
- Request a change of time ON THE SAME DAY or
- Request to submit a VIDEO RECORDING when a participant is unable to attend a live performance as currently scheduled.
To request a change of time ON THE SAME DAY:
Apply by email to liz@eisteddfod.co.za, and include the details of your challenge with the time. Attach a copy of your participant slip to this email. This should be done at least 48 hours before your scheduled performance.
You will then receive a written response that you can submit to the adjudicator’s assistant on your arrival at the venue. There is no cost involved for this request.
To request to submit a VIDEO RECORDING when unable to attend live:
Any participant that cannot perform live as scheduled, will be allowed to submit a video recording of the performance on the following conditions:
1. The participant must send a formal request to submit a video recording to liz@eisteddfod.co.za at least 24 hours before the scheduled event and should include the following information:
2. Full details (name & surname / name of group, item number, scheduled date & time) must be provided:
3. Proof of payment of the required fee (R 130) to change to a video submission must be attached, as well as a copy of the original participant slip.
4.The details of a shareable unlisted YouTube link (This will be created when you upload
the video as below).
(An Unlisted video can ONLY be viewed by the person that receives the link, like the NEA in this instance).
5. For this purpose, a NEW video recording of the performance (strictly in accordance of the “Requirements for video entries”) should be recorded.
6. The new recording should be uploaded to YouTube as an UNLISTED video. Only the details of the shareable YouTube link that will be created when you upload the video should be submitted to the NEA.
7. This link will be used to screen your recorded video on the scheduled time during the session.
8. The adjudicators panel will adjudicate your performance as recorded and the results will be included in the final ranking for the particular session.
A kind request: Please do not call the office or send WhatsApp messages regarding video submissions. The process outlined above is the only channel for this purpose.
