Following a most difficult year, the National Eisteddfod Academy is exited to be able to announce the names of all the semifinalists for the combined 2020 – 2021 Young Performer Awards Competition that will be presented at the Roodepoort Theatre on 4, 6 and 8 May 2021!
The 4 lists of semifinalists comprise of the following candidates:
- The Semifinalists for the Young Performer Awards 2020 (as was already announced in 2020). These Semifinal rounds had to be cancelled as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and are now combined with the Semifinalists as selected for 2021.
- The selected Semifinalists for the 2021 edition of the Young Performer Awards competition – these candidates were selected based on the adjudicators’ recommendations at the end of the Quarter-final rounds in each of the following:
- Candidates that participated in the live events of the Young Performer Awards 2021 competition.
- Candidates that summitted videos for adjudication in the the Young Performer Awards 2021 competition.
(Candidates in both categories were ranked by the different adjudicator panels. The top candidates in each category are now invited as semifinalists for the Young Performer Awards 2021.
All the newly selected Semifinalist need to confirm their availability to participate. The necessary forms for this purpose is about to be distributed by email and must be submitted as soon as possible. Please note that these emails will be send from the noreply@eisteddfod.co.za address. Please do not reply to this address.
The dates and times for the various events that will be presented at the Roodepoort Theatre are as follows:
- 4 May 2021 – 15:00 > Semifinal round for Dance
- 4 May 2021 – 19:00 > Semifinal round for Speech and Drama
- 6 May 2021 – 15:00 > Semifinal round for Classical and Crossover music
- 6 May 2021 – 19:00 > Semifinal round for Contemporary music
All the Finalists as selected at these four events will compete in the Final Round on 8 May, also at the Roodepoort Theatre.
